About the Role The Risk and WHS Officer plays a key role in the supporting a safe, informed, and risk- aware organisation. Working within the Organisational Development department, this position provides high-level administrative coordination and support to the Risk and WHS team and contributes to improving systems, processes, and reporting across the organisation. The Risk and WHS Officer will manage core communication channels, support WHS Committee functions, administer liability claims, coordinate WHS audits and inspections, reporting, promotion of WHS, Risk and RTW information and maintain essential systems including ECM, SharePoint, SkyTrust, and CAMMS. Accuracy, data integrity and continuous improvement is central to this role, ensuring Council meets its legislative obligations and the Performance Standards for self-Insurers (PSSI). About You You will bring strong administrative skills, exceptional attention to detail and confidence managing competing priorities. Your communication skills allow you to build positive relationships across the organisation and you can interpret complex information and present it clearly. To be successful, you will have: Extensive administrative experience Understanding of risk management principles Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and deliver high-quality outputs Competent computing sills including MS Office and records management systems The ability to promote a positive and proactive safety culture Qualifications in Business Administration, Work Health and Safety, or equivalent experience will be highly regarded.
