The Senior Vulnerability Assessor is responsible for identifying, analysing, and prioritising security vulnerabilities across complex ICT environments. The role focuses on penetration testing, threat assessment, and risk analysis to strengthen security architecture, improve risk awareness, and support informed decision-making across the organisation. This is a 12 month contract role, NV2 is highly regarded. Requirements What you'll do: Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across a broad range of systems, networks, applications, and devices. Perform forensically sound security investigations in response to incidents or as directed by senior stakeholders. Identify, assess, and clearly articulate threat profiles and risk impacts associated with electronic devices and systems. Analyse the effectiveness of existing security controls and recommend mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities. Provide clear, practical security advice to technical and non-technical stakeholders to support improved security posture. Develop and maintain high-quality executive and business reporting on threat assessments, vulnerabilities, and mitigation outcomes. Review systems and architectures to identify actual or potential security weaknesses and areas for improvement. Apply appropriate system design and assessment methodologies, including predictive and agile approaches. Design, develop, test, document, and refine scripts or tools to support vulnerability assessment and security analysis activities. Ensure compliance with relevant ICT security policies, standards, and legislative requirements. What you'll bring: Demonstrated experience undertaking threat intelligence, threat modelling, or security risk assessments in complex environments. Proven experience conducting penetration testing and translating findings into actionable security insights and controls. Strong capability in producing executive-level and operational reporting relating to vulnerabilities, threat analysis, and mitigation strategies. Solid understanding of ICT security principles, security controls, and secure system design. Experience performing security investigations using forensically sound practices. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders. Strong scripting or programming skills to support security testing and analysis activities. Experience working in senior or lead security roles within large, complex organisations. Relevant security certifications such as CREST Registered Penetration Tester or CREST Registered Threat Intelligence Analyst (desirable). Ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance.
