ICT Project Manager (EL1 equivalent) This role is a full-time opportunity to join the Local Peoples team permanently, with your initial assignment supporting the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). Local Peoples partners with Australian Government agencies to deliver complex ICT and digital transformation initiatives. In this role, you will lead the delivery of critical ICT projects across corporate applications, infrastructure platforms, cloud and cyber initiatives, data and analytics, and software development programs. Beyond the initial engagement, you will contribute to high-impact projects that strengthen government capability and deliver meaningful outcomes for Australia. About the first project: You will be engaged as an ICT Project Manager within DCCEEW, responsible for delivering in-flight FY25/26 projects and supporting future initiatives. You will operate in a hybrid delivery environment, managing cross-functional teams and external vendors while ensuring strong governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires regular on-site attendance in Canberra, with flexibility for candidates based outside the ACT subject to travel and project requirements. Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end delivery of ICT projects using methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe and hybrid approaches Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, including internal staff and third-party vendors Deliver projects within agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality parameters Establish and maintain project governance, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure Prepare and present high-quality reports, board papers and briefings for Senior Executives, Project Boards and governance forums Manage project budgets, financial forecasting and reporting Identify, manage and escalate project risks, issues and dependencies Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure clear communication across business and technical teams Support broader program delivery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as directed by the Project Management Office. Qualifications: Qualifications in Project Management, Information Technology, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience Project management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, MSP or equivalent are highly regarded SAFe Agile, Scrum Master or Agile delivery certifications are desirable Essential Criteria: Demonstrated experience delivering large and/or complex ICT projects or programs, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently Proven capability managing all aspects of project delivery including initiation and closure, scope, schedule, budget, governance, risks, issues and escalation Strong leadership skills with experience building and leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing third-party vendors and contracts Highly developed communication skills, including experience preparing and presenting executive-level reports and briefing materials Demonstrated resilience, adaptability and ability to deliver under pressure in complex and ambiguous environments Desirable Criteria: Experience delivering large corporate software implementations, including ERP programs Experience working within Australian Federal Government environments Strong knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks and enterprise ICT transformation programs Residency and Clearance Must be an Australian Citizen Must hold Baseline Security Clearance or be able to obtain one Location This role is open to candidates based in the ACT, with hybrid working arrangements.
