Working in a supportive technical environment, you will contribute to cutting‑edge modelling approaches that inform decisions across our insurance portfolio and strengthen resilience for customers. What You’ll Do Lead the development of AI‑augmented workflows that generate high‑quality code and scientific outputs, ensuring models are accurate and fit for purpose. Design RAG systems that connect scientific literature, technical documentation, and code repositories to accelerate model development. Develop prompt‑engineering frameworks that produce robust implementations for numerical modelling and simulation, supporting large‑scale hazard algorithms. Integrate insights from earth system science into natural hazard models, ensuring assumptions and results are well‑validated. Monitor AI use across the team and establish quality controls to ensure outputs meet regulatory and actuarial standards. Share knowledge and collaborate effectively across multiple business areas to support broader scientific and strategic outcomes. What You’ll Bring Advanced technical qualifications (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field such as physics, engineering, computer science, data science, or earth system science, enabling you to design scientifically rigorous models. Experience applying AI or machine‑learning methods to complex modelling challenges (e.g., climate, hydrology, nonlinear dynamics), demonstrating your ability to translate theory into impactful solutions. Proficiency with neural networks and modern deep‑learning frameworks, applying them to numerical, spatial, or scientific modelling tasks. Strong experience with AWS, GPU compute, and parallelisation approaches to support high‑volume, high‑complexity workloads. Advanced programming capability in Python and lower‑level languages, enabling efficient, validated implementation of complex algorithms. Ability to simplify complex scientific problems and communicate findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
