The Opportunity The Engineering Manager leads and develops a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering team spanning network and systems planning, engineering design, technical assurance, design integration, and engineering contract management. Working collaboratively across VicGrid and with delivery partners, government agencies, and industry stakeholders, the role ensures engineering outcomes are integrated, future-focused, and aligned with Victoria's clean energy transition. What you will deliver In this role you will lead and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering function to provide timely, strategic, and authoritative technical advice across VicGrid's infrastructure program and operational activities. You will direct and oversee engineering and design processes to ensure project and operational objectives are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legislative, regulatory, and VicGrid requirements. You will manage complex engineering interfaces and relationships with key stakeholders, including AEMO, TNSPs, government agencies, consultants, and industry partners, negotiating outcomes aligned with VicGrid's strategic objectives. You will anticipate, assess, and manage significant engineering risks associated with major infrastructure programs, including risks to safety, communities, the environment, the energy system, and government reputation, and implement effective mitigation strategies. What you will bring Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects within complex project management environments, including coordination of engineering, land and environmental approvals, and construction or delivery activities. Proven ability to work across organisational boundaries and with external stakeholders, including delivery partners, regulators, landholders, and government agencies, to align objectives, manage interfaces, and support successful project outcomes. * Knowledge of the energy sector, including both industry and regulatory matters.
