With a healthy pipeline of live projects and a growing commercial portfolio, we’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong focus on Variations Management to join our Commercial team. You’ll play a key role in our newly created team of Quantity Surveyors driving the commercial performance of our projects – ensuring accurate forecasting, cost planning and procurement while contributing to Kapitol’s reputation for excellence. This role is ideal for a QS who enjoys being close to the action on live projects and has a sharp eye for contractual entitlement, cost recovery, and commercial outcomes. Working alongside Project Managers, Site Teams, and Contract Administrators, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end variations process across one or more projects, ensuring timely identification, pricing, negotiation, and agreement of variations. You will embody an Inspirational approach to work. What you’ll do: Identification, assessment, and management of head contract variations Prepare, submit and negotiate head contract variations and related documentation to clients. Assess, negotiate, and finalise subcontractor variations to maintain commercial accuracy. Establish programme impacts of Scope Change instructions Support cost forecasting, budget control , and value management throughout project delivery. Conduct risk reviews and ensure compliance with commercial procedures and governance frameworks. Provide accurate, timely financial reporting and insights to the project team. Collaborate with Project Managers and Contract Administrators to maintain strong commercial performance. Participate in project reviews, identifying opportunities to optimise financial outcomes. What you’ll bring: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or Contract Administration role within commercial construction. Sound understanding of cost management, contract administration, and construction contracts. Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail. Firm understanding of construction methodologies & buildability approaches Confident communicating with both site and client-side stakeholders Proactive and collaborative, with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.
