You will lead a broad range of internal financial business activities, including researching, developing, monitoring and implementing financial frameworks, policies, and procedures, and ensuring these are effectively applied across the JOC Group. Driving robust governance over internal resourcing and financial processes will be central to your role. Service delivery and financial stewardship will remain at the forefront as you support the achievement of JOC Group objectives. About our Team JOC Group Business Management Team is responsible for the development, implementation and continued improvement of budget processes and in-year management of resources. This team is essential to ensuring the efficient and effective financial management that underpins the planning and execution of JOC Group activities. Working closely with HQ Branches and JOC Commands, the team ensures that planning processes enable appropriate resource allocation, supported by rigorous due diligence. The JOC Business Management Team partners with the Defence Finance Group and collaborates with military personnel in a tri-service environment to deliver mutually agreed requirements and outcomes. The team operates within the Directorate of Group Governance and Finance, which oversees a range of governance functions for Joint Operations Command (JOC), including assurance, compliance, performance, risk, and security. Products and policies developed by the Directorate integrate with the broader Defence enterprise and inform policy across relevant branch activities within the group. Extensive experience in financial management, budget planning, and resource allocation is essential, along with the ability to translate complex financial requirements into actionable strategies. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a high level of independence. A key requirement of the position is the ability to identify opportunities for continuous business improvement across the JOC Group. You will also demonstrate capability in building team performance by developing and implementing work plans, setting performance indicators, and reviewing individual, team, and business outcomes.
