Reporting to the Portfolio Director, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for working with Project stakeholders, vendors, and the Business to deliver successful Project outcomes by initiating, planning, leading and managing projects to deliver business solutions. The role requires monitoring and regular reporting on Project progress in line with the Project Management Framework. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities Delivery - Manage projects from initiation through to closure, to ensure that projects are appropriately structured to achieve the maximum chance of success (time, budget, scope, quality). Ensure efficient and timely monitoring and reporting to required stakeholders. Financial Management - Manage the preparation of project cost estimates for gating submission/funding approval, and subsequently manage and report project delivery against agreed costs, to; maximise operational efficiency, optimise the cost / benefits of resource mix, forecast and manage the cost impacts of scope change. Benefit Management - Monitor benefits against what was predicted in the business case and ensure all participants are informed and involved throughout the change programme. Stakeholder management - Engage, inform and negotiate with stakeholders, particularly the sponsor, business owner, impact business units, vendors and parties responsible for the services after project completion, to identify, manage and monitor compliance with reform obligations. Project Governance - Adherence to delivery methodology and governance framework to ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of their role and that the required decision making and escalation processes are in place to help achieve the required outcomes. Partner and vendor management - Manage vendors to deliver solutions for the project to ensure adherence to schedule, quality outcomes, cost effectiveness, appropriate risk management and seamless integration with other project delivery streams, including: Define (in consultation with the legal team where appropriate) the commercial framework/terms; Monitor and report progress and performance against agreed deliverables and quality and performance expectations; Manage contractual performance and quality, ensuring program requirements are met effectively/efficiently and problems are managed and escalated when required. Risk and Issue Management - Effectively manage risks and issues by identifying and documenting risks and issues to projects and developing effective mitigation/management strategies according to risk framework by: Leading and managing the identification of risks and impacts associated with project delivery. Managing and leading the development of risk mitigation plans Facilitating informed risk management decisions by reporting and communicating risk assessments and plans to the necessary stakeholders Direct the identification, monitoring, reporting and escalation of issues and/or problems associated project delivery, including challenging and influencing stakeholders as required to enable the achievement of project deliverables and benefits. Lead, mentor and guide project team members to: Ensure that resources are optimally utilised. Build capability across on methods, techniques, and approaches to project management Pre-Requisites Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Project Management Certification e.g. PMI/Prince 2 Certification or equivalent Scrum master/Agile certification (optional) Required experience, understanding or credentials including : 5 years Project Management experience managing budgets of $3M plus and some experience in running projects in an agile environment. Preference to Investments business or related experience Experience delivering investments system integration projects, including unit pricing highly advantageous Experience managing external technology vendors and custodians, including leading RFIs/RFPs Domain expertise - preferred: Vendor and Trade Repository integration with hands-on delivery background coordinating with the reporting platform and DTCC DDRS connectivity, including ingestion from Charles River IMS or PMS system and custodian files. Stakeholder and regulatory engagement including working closely with Investment Ops, Risk/Compliance, external vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure reporting accuracy, audit readiness and senior governance reporting (MIC, Board Risk Committee). Demonstrated strategic, analytical, problem solving, issues management and evaluation skills to deliver innovative solutions. Evidence of successful customer/stakeholder executive management, particularly as part of business transformation projects. Excellent communication, facilitation, consultation, negotiation and reporting/presentation skills, including the ability to influence people at all levels, and foster and maintain collaborative working relationships both within and outside the organisation. Experience in leading projects and/or delivery of solution planning, development and delivery of projects with multiple streams to budget, time and quality standards. Leading, managing and motivating multi-disciplinary project delivery team, consisting of both internal and external (contractors and vendors) to achieve outstanding results. Solid understanding of how organisational change management enables successful business transformation. Managing financial and performance analysis with project reporting. Leading the development and application of best practice project management approaches and methodologies, as well as mentoring less experienced team members.
