Working closely with the Operations Manager, you’ll join a small, supportive team of genuine people dedicated to creating exceptional experiences and lasting memories for every guest and visitor to the property. WHO YOU ARE As a Handyperson, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance of guest rooms, common areas, and the exterior of our mixed use commercial & residential development. You will ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in full compliance with statutory requirements and Australian Standards. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring hands‑on experience in general maintenance or trades assistance, along with the versatility to perform a wide range of tasks. Experience within the hospitality industry is highly regarded. You consistently demonstrate a positive, can‑do attitude and are motivated to contribute to a newly established and growing team. This position offers a busy and varied workload. Your day may include general repairs such as basic plumbing, changing light bulbs, painting, plastering, as well as conducting investigative checks to identify potential issues. You’ll need the physical capability to perform manual tasks and the confidence to work effectively with external contractors. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be interacting with guests, staff and residents from a diverse range of backgrounds. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES As our Handyperson, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and presentation of our property. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Carrying out caretaking duties throughout the common areas including gardening, minor painting repairs, & general maintenance Maintaining guest rooms and facilities, including preventative maintenance within the Room Care Program. Following established procedures and standards to ensure efficient and consistent operations. Assisting with basic troubleshooting of electrical items, including TVs and air‑conditioning units. Identifying any tasks requiring specialist attention and advising the Operations Manager or General Manager so external contractors can be engaged when needed. Reviewing and updating maintenance logs, including obtaining quotes for the Operations Manager. Responding promptly to urgent repairs or issues as they arise. Ensuring all maintenance work upholds existing warranties and guarantees. Coordinating and liaising with additional tradespeople working onsite. Providing support to nearby sites when requested by senior management.
