The Opportunity Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking a qualified and experienced Special Class Welder to join our team in Port Hedland, WA . This is a casual local role, supporting shutdowns as well as ad‑hoc work within our Wedgefield Workshop. In this position, you will carry out: Routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on a range of equipment, including dust and diesel systems, chutes, liners and conveyor rollers. Welding and fabrication tasks using drawings, plans and specifications. You’ll be working as part of a supportive team that prides itself on delivering safe, high‑quality outcomes across our client sites. About You Trade Certificate Driver’s Licence and White Card Confined Spaces, Gas Test Atmospheres, Working at Heights Basic Fire Certificate MSIC (or ability to obtain one) is preferred Ability to confidently pass Manual Metal Arc Welding and Flux Core Arc Welding tests You will have general welder as well as fabrication experience About Energy & Utilities Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
