The Senior Director, Commercial Strategy – Direct-to-Consumer is a senior leader within Sony Music’s D2C organization, embedded day-to-day with a designated label. This role is responsible for owning artist-level D2C commercial strategy, translating Sony Music’s D2C frameworks into executable, label-specific plans that drive sustainable revenue growth, fan engagement, and campaign discipline. The role remains accountable to central D2C leadership and operates as part of Sony’s unified D2C commercial strategy function while being embedded into the label What you'll do: Execute Sony Music’s D2C commercial strategy within an embedded label environment. Lead artist and release-level D2C commercial planning across the campaign lifecycle both for developing artists and established artists. Develop customized D2C strategies aligned to artist brand, fan segmentation, and D2C standards. Define campaign scope, timelines, pricing inputs, and commercial guardrails. Identify and evaluate new D2C product concepts and monetization opportunities. Partner with analytics and finance teams on forecasting, projections, and performance tracking. Integrate D2C initiatives into broader label marketing and digital campaigns. Serve as the primary commercial strategy liaison between Sony Music D2C and label stakeholders. Ensure consistent application of Sony Music’s D2C tools, platforms, product and tech, and reporting frameworks. Proactively identify risks and resolve issues to ensure on-time, on-budget execution. Who you are: 10 years of experience in the creative industry with a strong focus on Direct-to-Consumer and ecommerce. Proven experience planning and executing D2C campaigns in a release-driven environment. Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance creativity and financial discipline. Comfortable operating in matrixed organizations with dual reporting lines. Highly analytical and data-driven, with experience partnering with insights and finance teams. Customer- and fan-centric mindset with sensitivity to artist brand integrity. Passionate about consumer products, collectibles, and creative commerce.
