About the role: MSS Security is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee and coordinate security operations at the U.S. Consulate. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing a team of up to 15 security staff and 2 supervisors. As the Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for the U.S. Government, ensuring all security measures are implemented to the highest standards. This is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week, 8:00am - 5:00pm). A fully funded company car, available for both work and personal use, and a mobile phone are included. Duties included but not limited to: Key Responsibilities: Lead, supervise, and mentor security staff and supervisors Manage daily operations in conjunction with the Supervisory team and maintain communication with the Contracting Officer’s Representative Monitor and provide advice regarding security threats, ensuring compliance with U.S. requirements Oversee rostering, recruitment, performance, and disciplinary processes Manage financials, including invoice approvals and budget oversight Ensure contract compliance and high-quality service delivery Drive KPI performance and implement continuous improvement strategies Maintain accurate records and update SOPs Conduct audits, manage client reporting, and produce monthly/quarterly reports Handle customer feedback and staff attendance issues Systems: Overseeing efficient and effective use of Pronto, RoleCall and TM1 in assisting Commercial managers to efficiently and effectively manage their month-end close, assess client/site profitability and manage Profit Improvement Plans and waste reduction Employee Engagement: Providing assistance where required to state / divisional team where resourcing gaps exist Providing periodic reviews/audits, action plans and coaching to ensure best practice processes and procedures across our state offices Participating in recruitment and competency development plan discussions as required by the Chief Financial Officer Coaching new employees and or as development needs require Coordinating, arranging and leading monthly teleconference with the Commercial Managers Business Partnering including Profit improvement strategies Customer profitability Revenue analysis Pricing review Contract review Contract costing EBA and Award knowledge Financial Management & Strategic Direction: Periodic customer profitability and negative contribution customer review and negotiations Developing and improving a methodology and practice for measuring site profitability Developing and improving a standard Costing Model Improving the quality and reliability of Costing skills and practices across all business units Overseeing the costing of all National Tenders and all Tenders over $1m per annum in Revenue, including risk assessment Improving business profitability by assisting Commercial Managers in driving their Profit Improvement Plans Developing and implementing initiatives as part of the Annual Planning Process Improving quality and usefulness of decision-making information Standardising and improving efficiency of processes and procedures which are common across all business units Maintaining a focus on LCR management and reporting based on actual data not theoretical costings Developing, maintaining and rolling out standard (or harmonised) state and consolidated balance scorecard and KPI’s Assisting in analysing Customer profitability Standardising and improving efficiency of Month end close and reporting processes across all business units Providing a linking role between the FP&A team and Commercial Managers with respect to Forecasting and Budgeting Producing project plans Producing guidelines Improve controls and management around the annual price increase process Providing analytical support to states/divisions Enterprise Agreement analysis to ensure costing compliance Participating in agreed projects and initiatives as required Ensuring business continuity with Commercial Managers Ensuring commercial activities are aligned to business strategies and goals Managing the Uniform contract with The Workwear Group, with the aim to optimise spend and satisfy the expectations of the service delivery teams Managing the Motor Vehicle contracts with LeasePlan and Summit, with the aim to optimise spend and satisfy expectations of the service delivery teams Managing the Workers Compensation program, with the aim to reduce premiums through collaboration with key stakeholders across the business units Any additional duties as requested by Management Skills & experience 10 years of experience in police, military, or security management (highly desired) Solid understanding of access control and security operations Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic communications systems Strong leadership and team management skills Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly desired) Valid Victorian Security licence Cert II or higher in security operations Valid Victorian drivers licence Willing to undergo extensive site clearances First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain) Working with children's check (or willing to obtain) Master Licence Number: 409-987-30S How to apply MSS Security is an Equal Opportunity Employer, valuing the unique backgrounds, experiences, and contributions of each person We encourage and celebrate diversity.
