Learn more on dxc.com The Domain Solution Architect – Mining, Oil & Gas is a senior leadership role accountable for shaping, governing, and delivering analytics, AI enabled and digital transformation solutions primarily across Mining, Oil & Gas clients. The role combines industry interlock leadership, solution architecture authority, presales accountability, and commercial ownership to drive sustainable revenue growth and ensure DXC delivers high‑quality, scalable, and operationally practical solutions within asset‑intensive and safety‑critical environments. Key Responsibilities Industry & Client Leadership Act as Data & AI’s senior domain authority for Mining, Oil & Gas across Western Australia. Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with C‑suite, executive, and senior operational stakeholders including DXC’s internal client partners and sellers. Provide industry insight and thought leadership to influence client strategy, investment decisions, and technology roadmaps. Represent DXC in executive engagements, industry forums, and strategic client discussions. Revenue Growth & Portfolio Ownership Own and grow the Mining, Oil & Gas Data & AI’s portfolio, including pipeline, revenue, and total contract value. Partner with Industry, Sales, and Account leaders to identify, qualify, and prioritise opportunities. Lead strategic pursuits, account expansions, and large‑scale bids. Improve win rates through disciplined opportunity qualification, value‑led solution framing, and strong solution governance. Presales, Solution Architecture & Governance Lead end‑to‑end solution shaping from discovery through proposal submission. Design and govern solution architectures across data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, industrial IoT, cloud, and integration. Ensure solutions are commercially viable, operationally practical, secure, and aligned to asset‑heavy environments. Provide governance over solution assumptions, estimates, delivery models, risks, and dependencies. Own or review technical responses for RFPs, RFTs, RFIs, and support executive presentations and workshops. Delivery Alignment & Practice Leadership Ensure solutions transition seamlessly into delivery and business outcomes are realised. Partner with delivery leadership to ensure quality, margin protection, and client satisfaction. Contribute to Mining, Oil & Gas‑specific offerings, accelerators, and go‑to‑market strategies. Support capability development and mentoring across analytics and solution architecture teams. KPIs & Success Measures Revenue, pipeline, total contract value and margin attainment. Bid win rate and opportunity conversion. Solution quality measured by delivery predictability and reduced rework or escalations. Client satisfaction, executive sponsorship, and repeat business. Contribution to reusable assets, offerings, and practice capability uplift. Margin protection and delivery governance effectiveness. Maintain 40% utilisation on Data & AI project delivery. Skills & Experience Industry & Domain Leadership 15 years’ experience leading enterprise data and digital initiatives across Mining, Oil & Gas and other asset intensive sectors operating models and safety‑critical environments. Proven track record advising executives on data strategy, operating models, governance, compliance, and risk to drive measurable business outcomes. Enterprise Data Strategy & Governance Expertise in Data Governance & Security, Data Maturity Assessments, Strategic Lifecycle Management, and Enterprise Information/Data Modelling (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault, Enterprise Information Model). Hands‑on leadership with DMBOK/DAMA and TOGAF aligned practices; implementation of metadata management, lineage, quality, and master/reference data disciplines. Architecture & Modern Platforms End‑to‑end solution design across modern data platforms, including lakehouse and data fabric patterns; event‑driven and streaming architectures; microservices integration and DevOps enablement. Advanced experience with Azure (Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory/ADF, Cosmos DB), AWS, Snowflake, Informatica and google data ecosystems. Systems & Tools Databricks (Delta Lake, ML pipelines) and Microsoft Fabric (e.g., OneLake, lakehouse, pipelines, semantic models). Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Confluent (Kafka), MuleSoft, Salesforce, SAP, DBT, SSIS, ADF, PowerShell, Git, Jira/Confluence. BI & Analytics: Power BI, Tableau, SSRS; advanced Python/R analytics workflows and enablement of data science platforms. Data Engineering & Integration Design and leadership of robust ingestion, transformation, and inter‑system interoperability across ERP/CRM and OT/IT boundaries. Implementation of reusable data migration engines and reconciliation/exception reporting at scale. Presales, Commercials & Delivery Governance Executive presales leadership (discovery, solution options, estimation, assumption & risk registers), RFP/RFT authorship, solution governance, and handover into delivery with clear NFRs and transition plans. Proven margin protection through architecture guardrails, risk mitigation, quality gates, and measurable delivery outcomes. Leadership & Practice Building Practice uplift (capability frameworks, accelerators, reusable IP, and cross‑functional collaboration with product, security, finance, and operations.
