This position is responsible for the delivery of high-quality speech pathology care, providing assessment and management of adults with communication and swallowing difficulties. The caseload will include servicing outpatient clinical areas with some rehabilitation inpatient cover. The position is well supported with clinical supervision and opportunities for professional development within a well-respected, dynamic Speech Pathology team. The department provides speech pathology rehabilitation services, with a particular focus on group intervention and specialised management of individuals with conditions of neurogenic origin, including specialist services for Parkinson’s Disease and Language-Led Dementias (PPA). The available role is for a part-time (0.8FTE) fixed term contract [maternity leave cover], with an end date of 30th May 2026. Selection Criteria: 1. Qualifications in accordance with MSIC & WMH Health Professionals Agreement 2016 [i.e., Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology (or equivalent)] and eligibility for full practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia2. Demonstrated experience providing inpatient and outpatient speech pathology rehabilitation services to the aged population3. Demonstrated knowledge of the diagnosis and management of progressive neurogenic communication disorders, including Parkinson Disease and dementia4. Experience providing therapy utilising a range of service delivery models, including provision of group therapy programs. Current accreditation in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment program is preferable.5. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and time management skills, including ability to prioritise workloads and work both independently and within a clinical speech pathology team6. Experience and demonstrated skills working successfully as part of a multidisciplinary team7. Experience undertaking and completing quality improvement projects and evaluation of speech pathology management outcomes8.
