Who we are looking for State Street Investment Management (“State Street IM”) is seeking a Head of APAC Operations, Managing Director. This senior leader will oversee APAC Operations within the COO organization, including client implementation, shareholder services, client reporting, performance valuation, fund accounting, and more. This role requires close collaboration with regional business leaders at State Street IM to drive APAC growth strategy and execution, as well as partnership with global function leaders in the State Street IM COO organization to ensure global functional alignment and operational excellence. The Head of APAC Operations will also serve as the senior technology leader, working with State Street enterprise technology leads on tech risk control and oversight. As a senior member of State Street Investment Management’s APAC legal entities, this leader will drive both operational and technology excellence and develop a strong talent force for the COO team in APAC. This role will report directly to State Street IM’s Global Head of Client Experience Technology and Business Service within the Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization. What You Will Be Responsible For As Head of APAC Operations, Managing Director, you will: Lead APAC Operations within the COO organization, overseeing client implementation, shareholder services, client reporting, valuation, fund accounting, and related functions. Serve as a senior APAC operations and technology leader, holding designated regulatory responsibilities (as applicable by jurisdiction) across COO functions. Define and execute the APAC Operations and Technology strategy, aligned to the global Product, Platform, and Services (PPS) operating model and regional growth objectives. Drive the APAC operating model transformation through technology, data, automation, and AI to improve scalability, resiliency, cost efficiency, and client experience. Partner with APAC country heads and the head of Investment management, and global functional leaders to co‑create and deliver the regional COO strategy. Act as the primary APAC interface to global COO, technology, risk, compliance, and legal leadership, ensuring strong global‑regional alignment. Build and lead a high‑performing APAC COO leadership team, representing APAC Operations in governance forums, regulatory engagements, audits, and senior management discussions. What We Value Demonstrated success building and executing regional COO or operations strategies in partnership with country heads and the head of Investment management. Deep experience supporting institutional and intermediary client bases within asset management. Strong technology and data acumen, including experience leading platform modernization, automation, and AI‑enabled transformation. Deep understanding of APAC regulatory frameworks, supervisory expectations, and operating model implications. Proven ability to lead large, geographically distributed organizations (50 employees) across multiple APAC markets. Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, regulators, and boards. A results‑oriented mindset with strong judgment, resilience, and the ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments. Qualifications & Experience 15 years of experience in financial services, with significant leadership experience in asset management operations. 10 years in senior leadership roles with accountability for operations, technology, risk, and large‑scale transformation. Demonstrated experience operating within regulated legal entities and holding senior management or prescribed responsibility roles. Significant experience leading multi‑country, multi‑jurisdictional teams across APAC. Strong background in technology‑enabled operating model transformation. Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred. About State Street What we do.
