We’re searching for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team, working within the Innovation Hub. The Innovation Hub is a specialised team with the goal of executing on and validating ideas as fast as possible. This role will see you working across Breadcrumb’s existing systems and greenfield initiatives, adding innovative capabilities to the core product. Reporting directly to the Engineering Leadership team, this is a hands-on role focused on building, integrating, and shipping real systems. You will take ideas from concept through prototype to production, working closely with core product and engineering teams. What You’ll Do Create prototypes to test and validate concepts with customers. Where successful you’ll take them forward, collaborate with other teams to deliver the product worldwide. Enhance and extend existing core products using .NET (C#) and React Design and ship innovative features within established systems Lead new product initiatives from concept to prototype and, where appropriate, production, selecting tools and frameworks based on fitness for purpose Evaluate and apply emerging technologies (e.g. AI/LLMs, data, automation) where they add real value Design APIs, integrations, and data flows across internal and third-party systems Build solutions that may span web, mobile, desktop, or other platforms when needed Collaborate closely with innovation, core product, engineering, and design teams Make sound architectural decisions in ambiguous problem spaces Mentor other engineers and influence best practices through technical leadership Who We’re Looking For : Skills and Experience An individual who works well autonomously whilst prioritising collaboration and collective success and having the below experience, skills and qualities: 5 years of strong hands-on experience with .NET/C# and React in production systems Comfortable with ambiguity, ownership, and cross-team collaboration Has a passion to deliver customer focussed experiences over embedding new technologies Proven ability to work effectively in existing codebases whilst introducing meaningful improvements Experience designing and shipping production software in fast-moving environments Solid understanding of API design, databases, and cloud platforms Experience building and shipping software across multiple platforms (web, mobile, desktop) Able to say no as well as yes! Knowing when an idea isn’t worth scaling matters Nice to Have Experience with AI/LLMs, data pipelines, or event-driven systems Startup or scale-up experience Comfort choosing technologies for greenfield systems
