The company specialises in delivering tailored technology solutions to clients across various sectors, with a strong focus on system integrity, quality assurance, and end-to-end support. City Systems currently seeking an experienced ICT Support and Test Engineer to join its technical team. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and compliance of ICT systems support and detailed testing, auditing, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical analysis. Responsibilities • Provided end-to-end technical support to clients by responding to service requests, incidents, and enquiries within agreed service levels. • Installed, configured, and maintained Windows and Linux servers, desktop systems, and business applications. • Managed Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and user access controls in line with organisational IT policies. • Conducted regular system health checks, backup verifications, and preventive maintenance activities. • Diagnosed and resolved complex hardware, software, and network-related faults to minimise downtime. • Supported and maintained internal and client systems, ensuring ticketing systems, logs, and documentation were up to date. • Tested and evaluated new hardware and software technologies to improve operational efficiency. • Provided onsite and remote support, including occasional interstate travel to meet client needs. • Assisted with procurement and deployment of IT hardware, software, and licensing. • Developed and maintained technical documentation, reports, and asset registers for future reference and auditing. • Designed, implemented, and maintained secure and reliable LAN/WAN networks across client environments. • Installed, configured, and administered routers, switches, wireless access points, and VPNs. • Configured and maintained FortiGate firewalls and network security appliances to protect client infrastructure. • Monitored and analysed network performance, diagnosing connectivity issues and optimising throughput. • Performed patching, firmware updates, and network performance tuning. • Assisted in network design and planning, ensuring scalability, redundancy, and adherence to best practice security standards. • Analysed clients’ ICT environments to identify technical issues, system inefficiencies, and potential improvements. • Recommended suitable technologies, network models, and system configurations to meet business and operational requirements. • Contributed to IT policy development, system documentation, and process improvement initiatives. • Liaised with management, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of ICT services and projects. • Assisted in risk assessment, disaster recovery planning, and IT strategy reviews to align with client objectives. Requirements Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's Degree, or Higher q ualification in engineering and IT covering hardware, software programming and application-based solutions. 3 or more years of relevant experience Ability to read and interpret network drawings Good problem-solving skills.
