Our client, a nationally recognised scientific organisation, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their specialist thermometry team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within Australia’s leading thermometry calibration laboratory, contributing to high-accuracy temperature measurement services and supporting research and development activities. You will be part of a technically rigorous environment that underpins critical measurement standards across industry, research, and government. The role is well suited to recent science or engineering graduates, experienced laboratory technicians, or metrologists looking to deepen their expertise in precision calibration and quality systems. Your Key Responsibilities: Liaise with clients to schedule calibration work and prepare quotations. Perform calibrations of precision thermometry instrumentation and digital thermometer systems. Analyse calibration data and prepare high-quality technical calibration reports. Support the operation and continuous improvement of the laboratory’s ISO 17025 quality system. Assist with the maintenance, development, and validation of calibration methods and laboratory facilities. Contribute to R&D activities within a high-precision metrology environment. Maintain exemplary records and documentation in line with quality and accreditation requirements. Ideal Candidate: Hold Australian citizenship. A degree in science or engineering, or equivalent relevant laboratory experience. Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of recordkeeping. Well-developed safety awareness and commitment to laboratory best practice. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build respectful and productive working relationships. Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word for data analysis and technical report preparation. Experience working in a NATA-accredited or ISO 17025 laboratory (highly regarded but not essential). Why This Role?
