The Principal Adviser, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations Training plays a pivotal role in strengthening correctional practices and supporting the professional growth of Community Corrections and Specialist Operations staff within QCS. The position is responsible for building capability, driving innovation, and ensuring training programs meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Develop a team of professional staff through effective facilitation, mentoring, coaching, and performance management. Build and sustain core capability in Community Corrections and Specialist Operations training to ensure high quality delivery. Apply contemporary correctional research and offender behaviour change principles to inform training and practice. Maintain professional development to ensure currency of knowledge and best practice approaches. Oversee training program quality to ensure consistency, continuous improvement, and alignment with agency objectives and RTO requirements. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver training that supports strategic outcomes and effective correctional practices. Contribute to continuous improvement by analysing performance trends and designing training content to address capability gaps. Prepare and provide internal and external performance reports as required. Support QCSA management in strategic and operational planning, including annual budget forecasting. Manage quality management system processes such as document control, data management, and policy revisions to meet legislative and agency standards. Ensure compliance with RTO frameworks and national qualification standards in training design and assessment. Provide advisory input to senior management on emerging risks, systems, processes, and best practice approaches. Contribute to work area planning, including development of work plans, advice on priorities, and strategies for monitoring progress. Collaborate with QCSA management and stakeholders to develop and monitor annual operational training plans and priorities. Participate in annual auditing processes to ensure QCS meets its obligations as an RTO. Essential Requirements: Demonstrated leadership experience in a training capacity, with strong problem solving and conceptual skills. Experience in core correctional practices and contemporary research in the criminal justice field. Proven ability to develop and lead teams with diverse skillsets. Experience in an RTO environment, including program and curriculum design and training delivery. Contemporary knowledge of the QCS environment or similar frontline operational experience. * Confident facilitation skills with the ability to successfully engage diverse adult learners.
