Position Overview This position is a vital member of the Member Experience team who is responsible for supporting and strengthening the club experience in a defined geographic territory. You serve as the primary liaison to district governors, assistant governors and club presidents, and in collaboration with Rotary International directors and other senior and regional Rotary leaders, support club and district operations and leadership development strategies. You help guide, train, and manage zone, district, and club-level volunteers with innovative ideas and resources to support and strengthen clubs, deliver a valuable club experience, and foster member engagement and retention. In addition, you are a trusted advisor to club, district and regional volunteer leaders on governance and policy matters, and positive culture-building. Your contribution will serve to expand our reach and enhance participant engagement, both strategic priorities of Rotary International. You Will Have College degree required. A minimum of three years of experience in member associations, volunteer management, development or a related field (i.e., sales/marketing, public relations, non-profit management); prior volunteer management or Rotary experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with personal computers and database applications required, including advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, and proven ability in oral and written communications, including public speaking and promotional writing. Emotional intelligence and relentless commitment to customer service. Ability to interact with high-level international business leaders and volunteers in their respective languages and in a culturally sensitive manner. Ability to travel and support in-person events. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, proactively schedule and manage time, and handle multiple tasks and projects in order to reach goals in a timely fashion. Comfort with qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Fluency in a second language, a plus. You Will Be Responsible For Regional Expertise, Strategy and Analysis Utilizing regional knowledge, field experience, and a change management mindset to inform goals, strategies, projects, and events to enhance club culture and member experience. Helping prepare, analyze, and disseminate reports to volunteer leadership to help activate, monitor, and manage activities within assigned territory. Advising on strategy for new club formation including Rotary, Rotaract, Interact and Rotary Community Corps. Creating and maintaining a knowledge management plan for your region, identifying strengths, successes, challenges, and opportunities; use to provide guidance and counsel to senior and regional leaders. Leadership Development and Operations Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to promote, support, and grow Rotary and Rotaract clubs, and strengthen club and district leadership development skills. Supporting all activities related to new club chartering and nurturing. Advising regional and district leadership on offering new member orientations, conducting club assessments and member satisfaction surveys, and other activities to assess and enhance club culture, the club experience, member engagement and retention. Facilitating learning and providing expertise and counsel to club, district, and zone leaders on all aspects of club and district operations, constitutional documents, board decisions, and organization policies related to building a positive culture, and deepening connections to our shared values. Identifying and championing opportunities for business process improvements to innovate the club experience, enhance member and participant engagements, and create efficiencies within club and district operations. Representing Rotary International at Rotary-sponsored and non-Rotary events as assigned. Domestic and international travel to build relationships with members, club and district leaders, and senior leaders. Volunteer Management and Support Serving as primary support for club leaders by providing advice regarding finances, suspensions and terminations, changes of name and locality, club incorporations, club foundations, officer election procedures, new club officer reporting, milestone acknowledgements, Rotary name and emblem guidelines, and other RI constitutional and Board policy matters. Supporting district governor selection, budget, communications, and learning events Identifying club creation, member engagement and brand champions to help advance Rotary’s strategic priorities. Ensuring proper club and district use of Rotary’s brand and marks. Providing public image support to clubs and districts, including assistance in creating brand compliant logos, project names, domains, and other materials. Supporting regional Rotaract MDIO leadership in assigned territory. Supporting non-districted clubs and appointed representatives. Governance and Finance Providing guidance and support in the preparation, implementation and reporting obligations for the annual governor funding budgets, including conducting annual surveys and evaluations to assess budgetary needs and usage, authorizing issuance of payments, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of funds, and confirming reporting requirements are met. Providing expertise and counsel to club, district, and zone leaders on constitutional documents, organization policies, and board decisions based on your knowledge of regional culture Advising on issues involving club and district leadership and operations, elections, and branding or licensing Advising on policies and procedures for issue resolution and escalating if necessary. Providing advice and support to club and district leaders as requested based on expert knowledge of Rotary policy and regional culture. Evaluates requests for exceptions to policies and guidelines.
