This is a key technical role for a planner who enjoys influencing outcomes, improving execution, and working closely with production to turn designs into real tonnes. You’ll be the senior planning lead supporting underground delivery through robust mine designs, scheduling discipline, and continuous optimisation. You’ll work side-by-side with Operations, Geology, Survey and Drill & Blast to keep plans practical, achievable and aligned to budget and equipment capability. Key responsibilities Own the underground planning cycle across short, medium and longer-term horizons Produce and refine development designs, stope shapes and sequencing to maximise ore recovery and efficiency Build and maintain development and production schedules with clear logic, assumptions and risks Work closely with Drill & Blast to ensure designs translate into effective firing plans and outcomes Support planning inputs to water management / dewatering requirements underground Provide technical guidance to ensure daily activities remain aligned to plan and productivity targets Maintain and update the Life of Mine plan and underpinning datasets as conditions change Identify opportunities to lift performance through method selection, equipment utilisation and cycle-time improvements Contribute to capital and operating cost forecasts, and investigate plan vs actual variances Mentor engineers/technical staff and lift planning standards across the team Support improvement projects and engineering tasks as required About You: 5 years in underground mining (Metals, with a preference for gold). Strong capability in Deswik.
