Technical Business Analyst – Data Transformation Melbourne (Hybrid) An established financial services organisation is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join a major data transformation program . This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, working closely with data engineers, architects, product owners and stakeholders to deliver high-impact data and analytics solutions. This is a hands-on role suited to a Business Analyst who is comfortable operating in complex data environments and translating business needs into clear technical requirements. About the Role You will play a key role in shaping and delivering data initiatives across the organisation, supporting the migration and modernisation of enterprise data platforms. Key Responsibilities Work with business stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data engineering teams. Support data transformation initiatives including data migration, integration, and platform modernisation. Develop process flows, data mappings, source-to-target mappings and business rules. Collaborate with data engineers, architects and product teams in Agile delivery environments. Support UAT planning and execution, including test scenarios and defect management. Contribute to data governance, quality and lineage discussions. Skills & Experience 4–7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within Financial Services (banking, insurance, wealth, or superannuation). Strong experience working on data, analytics or digital transformation programs . Solid understanding of data concepts: data models, ETL/ELT, data lakes/warehouses. Experience producing technical artefacts: user stories, functional specs, data mappings. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments. Desirable Hands-on experience with Databricks (or similar platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Synapse). Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP). SQL knowledge for data analysis and validation. Experience working with modern data stacks (Python, dbt, BI tools). Why Apply?
