As a Parking Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting the safe and efficient use of public parking areas for the benefit of the community. This dynamic role combines regular physical activity through on foot patrols with technical skill of understanding, interpretating NSW legislation and interacting with the public. Your primary responsibilities will include responding to requests from the community to investigate parking issues, issuing fines or warnings for observed offences, educating the public on parking rules and providing exceptional customer service. While previous experience as a Parking Officer is not required, we value a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. A high level of autonomy will develop effective time management and decision-making skills. Your Day-to-Day as a Parking Officer Conduct parking enforcement duties while promoting legal parking practices within the Georges River Council area Engage with the community to provide information and support regarding parking laws Accurately record information and interpret relevant legislation in accordance with Council's Standard Operating Procedures Work collaboratively within the Parking Team to ensure efficient operations Resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions with a friendly and professional approach Utilise effective awareness and observation skills to monitor compliance with parking laws Actively seek opportunities to promote the equitable turnover of parking spaces Adapt to changing environments, situations and work outdoors in various weather conditions The successful candidate will have Extensive experience in a customer facing or customer service-related roles Ability to solve problems through initiative, strong observational and effective decision making Accurate written and strong verbal communication, including an ability to record concise and accurate information Sound negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills Sound computer literacy including Windows, word, and smart phone applications Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision Flexibility to work outside of and in addition to normal hours of work Minimum Class C Drivers Licence Physical mobility in order to meet all of the inherent requirements of the position, including working outdoors on foot in various weather conditions Proven ability to work well within a team environment and follow reasonable work directions in an accurate and timely manner If you have made a positive commitment to further your career and you possess the attributes located in the complete Position Description, then please submit your application today.
