Data Scientist Operational Analytics | Machine Learning | Centre of Excellence Step into a role where your analytical thinking genuinely shapes how a major national organisation runs. We're looking for a Data Scientist who can blend strong technical capability with real business understanding, helping operational teams make smarter, faster decisions every day. You'll be part of a central analytics function that partners closely with leaders across the business. Your work will be hands-on, insights-driven, and directly tied to improving performance, productivity and forecasting accuracy. What you'll work on Exploring large operational datasets to uncover patterns, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities Sitting alongside business stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate them into analytical tasks Designing dashboards, reports and visual tools that bring clarity to complex information Using statistical techniques and machine-learning methods to sharpen forecasts and optimise resource planning Spotting opportunities to streamline processes and strengthen cross-team collaboration What you'll bring Around 3 years' commercial experience in data science, analytics or BI roles A degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similar) Demonstrated experience building predictive models to support forecasting and operational decision-making Commercial experience applying machine-learning techniques to real business problems Strong capability with Power BI , including DAX, Power Query and data modelling Solid SQL skills for working with large, imperfect datasets Experience using Python or R for analysis, predictive modelling and Machine Learning Confidence communicating insights and model outputs to stakeholders at all levels of the business Interested?
