Title: Senior Design Manager - Defence & Non-Defence Infrastructure Projects KBRâs South Australia team continues to grow, and we are excited to offer multiple opportunities for Senior Design Managers to join our expanding Adelaide Infrastructure team. We have roles supporting a mix of Defence and nonâDefence infrastructure projects, giving you the chance to contribute to some of the most interesting, complex and highâimpact projects underway in the region. Due to project requirements, these positions are only open to candidates living in Australia who hold Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency. Relocation support may be available for applicants residing outside South Australia. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage multiâdisciplinary design teams to deliver highâquality technical outcomes. Oversee the planning, coordination, and integration of design activities across the project lifecycle. Ensure design deliverables meet project requirements for scope, cost, schedule, and quality. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Provide clear leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering and design team members. Facilitate design reviews, workshops, and coordination meetings to support effective decisionâmaking. Identify and manage design risks, issues, and opportunities throughout the project. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, frameworks, and project governance requirements. Support bid development and proposal activities where required, including scope definition and design methodology input. Skills & Experience Required: Bachelorâs degree or equivalent qualification. Extensive experience delivering complex infrastructure engineering and design projects. While Defence experience is highly valued, candidates from other major infrastructure sectorsâincluding transport, water, energy, buildings, and community infrastructureâare strongly encouraged to apply. Proven experience leading and coordinating multiâdisciplinary engineering teams, with an emphasis on collaboration, people leadership, and achieving highâquality outcomes. Experience delivering design services within structured project frameworks, such as Defence contract frameworks, design and construction delivery models, alliance projects, or managing contractor environments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation. Strong stakeholder and client relationship management abilities. High level of scope awareness and demonstrated capability working within complex project environments. Australian Citizenship required due to Defence project eligibility requirements.
