With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Midwife Educator to join the Kilmore District Hospital's Education Team.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role: The Clinical Midwife Educator is a leadership role working within the KDH Education Team, reporting to the Clinical Education Coordinator, to support positive workplace culture and delivery of quality patient care by facilitating education and training opportunities for staff and students. Providing provision to develop skills and evidence-based knowledge along with acheive competency compliance through training and assessment are key deliverables for this role.  Acting as a role model for lifelong learning, the Clinical Midwifery Educator must display high quality and evidence based clinical care and demonstrate positive collaborative relationships across the interprofessional health care teams.  Role responsibilites: Work collaboratively across all departments to identify, develop and support learning need for clinical staff through Inservice education/Study day presentaiton, Provide opportunities for competency training and assessment Ensure effective and timely communication of maternity education activity  Direct, mentor and appraise Midwifery and/or other students (undergraduate and graduate diploma) within the relevant program area Engage in therapeutic and professional relationships demonstrating NH values Maintain the capability for practice Provide safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice Evaluates outcomes to inform nursing practice Undertaking care requirements demonstrating best practice and according to organisational expectation  To be successful in this role you will have: Essential Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery Registration with the relevant professional body Post graduate qualification in nursing, education, health, or relevant field Extensive experience and expertise in a relevant clinical field Level 3 FSEP Exhibits behaviour which reflects NH Values Promotes and contributes to a supportive and engaged team environment. Demonstrated ability to deliver education and training Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills Critical thinking and problem-solving ability Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills Demonstrated competence in a leadership role  Desirable Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment Minimum 4-5 yrs. Recent maternity area clinical experience Knowledge of undergraduate/post graduate programs and supervision Previous experience in a similar role or at senior clinical level Experience in creating change to work practices in a health care organisation Research, publication and public presentation skills  Next Steps . . .
