PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Oversees the end-end production processes & ensures that all areas are working as optimal as possible to the scheduled plan. Assesses the characteristics of each specific flock in primary processing and takes proactive action prior to products being processed approx. 2 hours later in SP1/SP2. Confirms and coordinates the flow of dressed birds to the planned percentage break up of what sizes are to be processed by which areas at what times, based upon what production orders are to be produced. Makes required changes to the schedule based upon changes to the raw material/orders, as necessary. Constantly in communication with the leaders on the floor and driving everything from the control room. SHIFT, ROSTER & REMUNERATION Fixed afternoon shift roster: 1:00pm to 9:00pm Flexibility required to support overtime and weekend work as operationally required Salary package: $75,000 to $82,000 superannuation Overtime paid in line with applicable allowances when required KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Process Controller requires very precise analytical and mathematical skills, and is required to analyse and utilise several variable data sources. The incumbent must have a full understanding of all variables to make informed decisions every day that have a significant impact on the plant productivity. It is critical that the incumbent can take in data/information from several sources and quickly construct a methodical change in plans. They must be proficient in the use of software packages such as Innova, PDSNT & PowerBI to ensure an optimal flow is maintained. This role is of critical importance, so much so that the incumbent must be relieved prior to going on a break. It is critical that they have constant concentration over the process, they must always also have dashboard information at their fingertips to make the best decisions. Proactive Schedule Review: Review & confirm daily production volumes including raw material specifications (mean weight, standard deviation, quantity & flock characteristics) for all flocks to be processed Oversee, analyse, and make required updates when required to process raw material characteristics, modifying the schedule plan when unexpected trends are found to ensure that production schedules reflect the most optimal process. Escalate any change or deviation in plan, as well as participate in a regular process of review to examine opportunities for optimisation General Participate and drive performance from SP1 & SP2 teams & assets, working closely with the operations leadership team to identify and instigate changes to increase productivity Liaise with Operations leadership & Planning teams to productively plan efficient methods of process Monitor, review, identify and implement processes to drive continuous improvement opportunities using principles of best practice Monitor, apply and promote Company policies in all work practices Act consistently with all company policies and goals Quality & OHS Systems Ensure that products are produced on time and in specification prior to product picking & loading to ensure compliance to Chain of Responsibility Be proactive in improving safe work practices and workplace environment Monitor, apply and promote Company policies in all work practices This position Description is not intended to be entirely prescriptive. ABOUT YOU: At least 3 years’ previous experience in a complex planning/operation/warehouse/farming role or from retail environment, preferably FMCG Bachelor Degree or Diploma preferred Strong mathematical aptitude with very high level of attention to detail and accuracy High level of computer literacy is essential with a very high level of competence with the Microsoft Office Suite, the Innova MES system, Stork PDSNT system and an ability to adapt to different software packages Excellent written and oral communication skill Understanding of Food Processing/Manufacturing environment Strong principles, values and ethics centred around honesty, integrity, acceptance of challenge, and a ‘can-do’ attitude Ability to work autonomously with flexibility Strength and confidence to seek further information when required and hold data sources to account Flexibility to change protocols and processes in line with business needs Sound problem solving skills coupled with a high level of initiative, determination and follow through to ‘get things right’ Customer & Quality “First” focus
