Description The Role Step into an impactful role where you will lead the technical direction and day‑to‑day operations of the applications powering UniSuper’s Advice business. As the Application Lead, you’ll own application stability, performance and enhancement across a diverse portfolio spanning VM‑hosted solutions, SaaS platforms, vendor‑managed applications and managed service arrangements. You will partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and external vendors to ensure we get the best value from our systems, providers and technology investments — driving uplift that directly supports advisers and ultimately our members. What You’ll Be Doing Ensuring optimal functioning, stability and availability of Advice applications. Diagnosing and resolving application issues, minimising disruption to business operations. Supporting and enhancing integrations, including systems owned by other technology teams. Acting as the primary contact for business queries, issues and enhancement opportunities. Managing our Managed Services Provider — reviewing tickets, clearing roadblocks, monitoring SLAs and ensuring compliance with UniSuper policies and procedures. Managing software vendors, including licensing, escalations and version upgrade planning. Leading system upgrades and enhancements that improve performance, functionality and security. Maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date application documentation, configuration records and procedures. Supporting application‑related project work including migrations, implementations and integrations. Identifying and managing risks, communicating clearly and escalating when required. Ensuring compliance with change, security and identity management requirements. Overseeing technical solution design to ensure alignment with business needs, standards, supportability and non‑functional requirements. About You You’re a proactive technical leader with strong stakeholder influence and deep expertise in application management. You bring: Strong understanding of solution architecture, contemporary IT strategies and modern application technologies. At least 5 years’ experience managing SaaS applications, including oversight of Managed Service Providers. Well‑developed vendor management skills and experience with licensing, support models and commercial partnering. Strong operational analysis capability and a track record of resolving complex production issues. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business teams. Experience supporting Advice businesses, ideally with exposure to Xplan or similar advice systems. Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, information systems or related technical discipline.
