About the role: RSM Australia’s Security & Privacy team is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead complex engagements, cultivate strong client relationships, and contribute to the strategic direction of our practice. As a Senior Manager in our S&P practice, you will take ownership of delivering high‑quality cyber security, IT audit and technology risk engagements. You’ll lead diverse project teams, work closely with partners on business development and strategy, and act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders. You’ll bring both technical depth and commercial insight, ensuring our clients receive practical, forward‑thinking solutions across all major technology platforms and environments. Key Responsibilities Client Advisory & Technical Leadership Provide expert guidance on IT and cyber security risk management across applications, databases, operating systems and network infrastructure. Identify improvement opportunities for clients and prepare/QA high-quality reports with clear, commercial recommendations. Conduct and oversee IT, cyber and technology risk assessments, security reviews, and third-party risk assessments. Engagement & Portfolio Management Manage multiple engagements end‑to‑end, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and of exceptional quality. Negotiate fees alongside partners and maintain strong commercial discipline across your portfolio. Lead team resourcing, future workforce planning and methodology compliance. Team Leadership & Development Mentor, coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence. Conduct technical and quality assurance reviews of S&P work. Identify emerging technical issues and escalate appropriately with proposed solutions. Business Development & Practice Growth Work collaboratively with partners and managers on proposals, quotes and market opportunities. Develop tailored solutions to meet client needs and build long‑term client relationships at senior levels. Contribute to the strategic and operational management of the division, including leadership and staffing initiatives. Demonstrated Experience & Attributes Essential Minimum 6 years’ professional services experience in cyber, IT audit, internal controls, or technology risk. Strong experience with major frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Essential Eight, COBIT, PCI DSS, CIS Controls, PSPF, ISM, GDPR or similar. Demonstrated ability to oversee technical assessments and translate complex findings for non‑technical stakeholders. Broad understanding of IT processes, project management, applications, databases, operating systems and networks. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience managing a client portfolio and delivering high‑quality service in demanding environments. Strong people leadership experience, including coaching and performance management. Exposure to business development activities. Relevant tertiary qualification and at least one professional certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC). Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Screening Clearance. Desirable Experience using data analytics tools and techniques in audit or risk assessments.
