For more information on working with us please visit https://www.humanrights.vic.gov.au/ About the Role The Finance and Procurement Officer reports to the Head of Corporate Services and is responsible for supporting the management of the Commission's finance and procurement operations, including annual reporting requirements. The role supports managers and the wider Commission to meet financial and procurement obligations and develops a strong understanding of the Commission's financial position and resourcing requirements. The position supports the day-to-day financial management of the Commission through the delivery of core financial activities, including accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, requisitions, invoice processing, and budget support, in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated ability and experience in developing and monitoring budgets, including maintenance of budget expenditure and financial reports. Well-developed conceptual, analytical skills, including the ability to provide financial and budgetary advice to senior management. Prior experience preparing monthly Dashboard reports in PowerBi and financial reports from Oracle for internal and external stakeholders. Monitor expenditure and income across activities and projects, which includes identifying and communicating discrepancies or potential budget risks. Assist with the development, implementation, and periodic review of financial and procurement policies, procedures, and controls. Qualifications Mandatory tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance and membership with CPA or ICA will be highly regarded. Previous experience within the Victorian Public Service (VPS).
