I’m partnering with a global retail company to recruit a PR & Content Manager who will lead public relations, communications and content strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting into the Head of Content, this role sits at the heart of a high-performing marketing function and plays a critical role in shaping how the brand shows up externally, internally and at an executive level. It’s a genuinely hybrid role: strategic in thinking, hands-on in execution and ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-profile environments where issues management, media relations and content excellence all intersect. What you’ll be responsible for PR, Communications & Reputation Lead integrated PR and communications strategies across corporate announcements, issues management, CSR and ESG initiatives, supplier partnerships, customer communications and internal updates Act as a trusted advisor on reputation risk, crisis and issues management Own proactive and reactive media relations, including journalist engagement, inbound media enquiries and participation in a 24/7 on-call roster Identify speaking opportunities and develop high-quality award submissions Manage external media monitoring and reporting partners Content & Social Media Create high-quality written, visual and video content across media releases, op-eds, executive communications, social posts and internal updates Support the management and growth of corporate and executive social channels, including CEO-facing platforms and LinkedIn Lead content planning, calendars and publishing across owned channels Produce social-first content (photography, short-form video and simple design assets) aligned to brand and communications priorities Manage the internal communications platform, driving stronger engagement and connection across the workforce Stakeholder Partnership Partner closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align communications with business priorities Support ad-hoc global communications initiatives and broader company-wide projects What I’m looking for 5 years’ experience across PR, communications, social media and content roles Strong understanding of the Australian and New Zealand media landscape Proven experience managing corporate or executive social media channels Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences Confident stakeholder manager who can influence at senior and executive level Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Content-capable and visually literate, with experience capturing and editing photo and video content Experience in both agency and in-house environments is highly regarded, as is exposure to large consumer brands.
