We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Engineer to join us in our Gas West Asset Engineering and Project Delivery team in Perth on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Team Leader Facilities Engineering WA, you will play a key role in supporting daily frontline operations in mechanical static and rotating to ensure safe and reliable operations of Gas West assets. Key Responsibilities HSEH Compliance – Ensure all WA assets comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as APA policies and practices. Customer Focus – Prioritise customer needs by delivering solutions and strategies that meet expectations, mitigate risks, and provide sustained value. Operational Support – Assist with day-to-day troubleshooting, risk assessment, and implementation of solutions to maintain reliability and safe operability of assets. Stakeholder Engagement – Maintain effective communication and collaboration with IOC, Operations, and other functional teams. Technical Standards – Work closely with Senior Mechanical, Senior Rotating, and Principal Engineers to ensure adherence to engineering standards. Incident Investigation – Lead investigations into operational incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Your background Qualifications – Degree in Mechanical Engineering with proven experience, preferably both static and rotating disciplines. Problem-Solving & Investigation – Ability to apply engineering techniques and utilising troubleshooting tools (eg. 5 Whys and RCA) to make sound decisions on complex engineering problems. Communication Skills – Effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration across disciplines to improve safety and reliability of WA assets. Leadership Skills – Ability to facilitate risk assessments with the key stakeholders and develop robust mitigation plans. Documentation skills to prepare mechanical procedures, safe working practices, and investigation report. About the Team The Gas West Asset Engineering and Project Delivery team exists to provide engineering and project delivery services to ensure reliable and safe operation of the APA Business Unit Gas West assets. The team enables APA to achieve its business strategy and goals, extract maximum value from its assets, and deliver value for its customers. The team consists of Asset Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Major Maintenance, SIB & Pipeline Project Delivery, and Gas East West Emergency Services.
