The Environmental Offsets – Planning, Monitoring and Research team is looking for an experienced, professional and motivated Assistant Director to lead the strategic and conservation planning of environmental offsets in the ACT. This is a key leadership role that will see you apply your strong communication and negotiating skills, provide direction and support to a small section, and support the strategic direction and management of the broader team. You will work with passionate and highly skilled ecologists, land managers, planners, spatial data experts and more across the ACT and Commonwealth Governments, and private sector, to deliver biodiversity outcomes for threatened species and ecological communities. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Mandatory: Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra (act.gov.au) Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Program Management, Public Policy, Environmental Law, Environmental Science or other relevant fields. Willingness to undertake incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, fire suppression and fire training. A current manual driver’s license.
