We are seeking an experienced Level 4 Gatehouse Security Officer to support operations at a busy TGE logistics site, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, people, and freight while maintaining strict security and safety standards. This is a fast-paced, high-risk environment involving constant interaction with heavy vehicles, drivers, and operations staff. A strong safety mindset, clear communication, and attention to detail are essential. The Role As the Gatehouse Security Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting TGE operations, acting as the control point for site access and compliance. Key responsibilities include: Controlling site access and preventing unauthorised entry Conducting vehicle and bag inspections Completing accurate, real-time data entry into live national Excel spreadsheets (driver and vehicle information) Communicating frequently with TGE operations via two-way radio and phone systems Conducting site inductions for drivers and visitors as required Monitoring CCTV, access control, and electronic surveillance systems Operating access control systems (issuing cards, locking/unlocking doors, auditing access) Recording incidents, breaches, and safety concerns Assisting with on-the-job training of other officers Performing duties across Levels 1–3 when required (without deskilling) Work Environment – TGE Site 24/7 rotating roster Weekdays: 8-hour shifts (0600–1400 / 1400–2200 / 2200–0600) Weekends: 12-hour shifts (0600–1800 / 1800–0600) Modern, fully heated and air-conditioned gatehouse High-risk logistics environment with continuous heavy vehicle movement Physically active role with frequent walking between gatehouse and driveways Breaks taken at post when practical (officers cannot leave post) Free, secure on-site parking Mandatory Requirements Current Security Licence – Cert II Current First Aid Certificate Ability to work independently and unsupervised Strong communication and interpersonal skills Physically fit and safety focused Driver’s Licence Highly Regarded Previous experience in transport, freight, or logistics environments CCTV and access control system experience Strong data entry and computer skills (Excel experience advantageous) Benefits & Culture Professional, inclusive, and supportive work environment Ongoing training and career development opportunities Access to a modern Learning Management System (LMS) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and families Well-being programs covering mental, physical, and financial health Employee discounts at 400 retailers Australia-wide If you have experience in gatehouse security and thrive in a transport and logistics environment, we want to hear from you.
