Responsibilities include researching, planning, and implementing the technical portion of company projects, monitoring and maintenance of IT infrastructure and respond to security and other critical events. This role is also expected to assist other system administrators with daily procedures and handling escalated or surplus incidents. There is also an expectation that the incumbent will research and seek opportunities for the on-going improvement of Redpath’s IT systems. Contribute to and maintain system standards. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Operations and Support Administration of local and global applications services Scope, schedule and deploy IT projects Manage vendors and contractors to meet company goals Security Monitoring to identify and mitigate any potential intrusions User and service account management Investigating and troubleshooting IT issues Repair and recover from hardware/software failures, coordinating with affected customers Assist with developing and enforcing I.T system policies Support training and content for new staff and for new project implementations Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications Minimum 5 years experience in a system administrator role Must have evidence of strong project management experience with delegation Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft cloud services Must have excellent working knowledge of IT Security Strong business acumen for understanding of standard company processes and practices Strong understanding of network topologies and design Desirable to have excellent working knowledge of virtualization and migration Have, or working towards, MCSA certification About Us In 1962, Jim Redpath’s vision for the company was much the same as it is today; offering a high level of service to the mining industry, which exceeds current standards and provides challenge for its employees.
