Applications close: 11 January 2025 Wastewater Treatment Operator 2 x Positions available Permanent full-time 38 hours a week Rostered day off every fortnight Salary: $72,898.54 - $84,719.70 per annum 12% Superannuation Additional allowance as per Local Government Award What you'll do As a Wastewater Treatment Operator, you'll report to the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor and play a key role in operating and monitoring wastewater treatment plants and pump stations. You will manage chemical dosing systems and catchment operations, and carry out troubleshooting, diagnostics, and routine operational activities. You will ensure wastewater is safely transported and treated to produce effluent that exceeds Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) licensing requirements, while maintaining compliance with Department of Health, legislative, and Council procedures. What you'll need to succeed (Essential Criteria) Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (Wastewater Treatment) or DPI Wastewater Course 1 & 2 and a minimum of four years' experience or demonstrated knowledge in wastewater treatment operation deemed equivalent, processes and maintenance and repair/rehabilitation of facilities/assets including quality monitoring. Proven knowledge of relevant legislations and wastewater management including Department of Health/DPI and EPA Licencing requirements. Proven ability in effective team collaboration, communication, analytical and problem-solving skill set. High Level of demonstrated ability in the effective use of telemetry, Monitor and Control Systems PLC & SCADA systems and ability to diagnose and act appropriately to events and alarms within each whole of catchment area. Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on treatment and quality services, and proven understanding on documentation on DPI etc. Wastewater Treatment Operator Hold a C Class Drivers Licence, WHS Induction Card, Forklift Licence, Confined Space Entry Certificate, Working from Heights ticket, activate sludge BNR course, Tag Out Lock Out, Working Under Powerlines and First Aid Certificate. Other Requirements Be willing to obtain within the first 12 months of employment: Statement of Attainment in Operate and Control Liquefied Chlorine Gas Disinfection.
