We are seeking an experienced Chef to support day-to-day kitchen operations, service delivery, and compliance. Role Overview As Chef, you will coordinate kitchen operations, uphold quality and food safety standards, supervise staff workflow, and contribute to menu delivery. This role is predominantly Chef-focused, with hands-on food preparation and cooking as an essential part of the position. Key Responsibilities (maximum 7) Plan and coordinate kitchen operations to ensure smooth, timely service and consistent output Supervise kitchen staff, allocate duties, and ensure appropriate section coverage across shifts Maintain high standards of food quality, portion control, taste, and presentation across all dishes Support menu execution and contribute to specials/menu development, including recipe standardisation where required Manage stock control processes, including ordering support, rotation, and waste minimisation Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen management requirements, including cleaning schedules and safe equipment use Prepare, season and cook menu items during service (as required), including mise en place, section management, and accurate plating to venue standards Skills Strong kitchen leadership and ability to manage service in a busy environment High attention to detail in quality control, timing, and presentation Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management Strong organisation, communication, and teamwork skills Reliable, punctual, and committed to professional kitchen standards Qualifications and Experience Relevant commercial cookery qualification (e.g., Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrated experience Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen (bistro/restaurant preferred) Demonstrated capability to support kitchen operations, maintain consistency, and meet compliance requirements How to Apply Please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
