We are seeking an experienced Cook to support daily food preparation and service delivery in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment. Role Overview As Cook, you will be primarily responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to a consistent standard, maintaining cleanliness and food safety practices, and supporting smooth service execution. Key Responsibilities Prepare, season and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, standards and service timelines Complete daily mise en place, portioning, and workstation setup to ensure service readiness Manage a cooking section during service and coordinate plating to maintain speed and consistency Monitor food quality, taste, portion control and presentation; rectify issues promptly Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen-management requirements at all times Assist with stock rotation, labelling, storage, and minimising wastage Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils and equipment, including end-of-shift pack-down Skills Strong practical cooking ability in a busy kitchen Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen requirements Good time management, organisation and attention to detail Strong teamwork and communication skills Qualifications and Experience Relevant commercial cookery qualification (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrated experience Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen (bistro/restaurant preferred) How to Apply Please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
