About the Team Our world-class team drives the operational function and deliver effects in support of the ADF and Australian Government. Role requirements range from providing legal and compliance advice with a key focus on operational areas and international relations, leading complex operational planning, integration and co-ordination, and providing sound financial and human resourcing advice, all with a significant degree of independence and high level application of judgement. About the Role As an ASD EL2 Mission and Planning Director , you will: Provide strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders as well as leading and assuming accountability for very complex work, sensitive projects and work programs that have strategic, political or operational significance. Be accountable for providing leadership and direction to ensure a high level of integration and consistency across the branch, the ADF and government as required. Direct and oversee the development of signals intelligence analysis, and/or operational and business planning and programs, providing guidance across the signals intelligence enterprise. Be innovative and make a leading contribution to the development and management of operational and business functions, methodologies, reporting, skill development and administrative processes across the division. Accountable for managing and leading a team including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility guiding and developing people. Additionally, you will manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities. Engage and influence the Australian Signals Directorate's senior management and provide the key link between senior executives and the Australian Signals Directorate's employees. Represent the Australian Signals Directorate and work collaboratively with stakeholders to manage expectations, provide advice and influence outcomes, domestically and internationally. Demonstrated experience in delivering outcomes, including leading complex capability planning and review. Proven experience establishing and maintaining highly productive working relationships with stakeholders both domestically and internationally, tailoring technical information for a range of audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to foster and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with ASD values. Highly developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to stakeholders. Ability to mentor and support staff, in order to build a stronger understanding of the policies, processes and procedures. Be accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to areas of responsibility and to seek guidance when required. Accountable under routine direction to perform and achieve key priorities within tight timeframes. Demonstrated experience in management of projects/programs and an understanding of agile processes and methodologies to achieve improvement.
