What You’ll Be Doing: In this varied role, you’ll: Lead and deliver strategic communications and storytelling to support business objectives, brand reputation, and key initiatives Manage media relations, PR activity, crisis/issues management, and proactive storytelling across all major channels Plan, create and oversee a 12-month content and social media calendar across digital, print, and internal platforms Provide high-level communications advice, research industry trends, and identify emerging opportunities Collaborate closely with marketing, design, and internal stakeholders to deliver campaigns on time and within budget Build strong internal and external relationships while championing Busways’ values, brand standards, and culture What You’ll Bring: Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or a related field, with 4 years’ experience in a similar role A solid understanding of public transport operations, customer behaviour, service reliability and the regulatory environment affecting bus networks Proven expertise in media relations, issues management, social media strategy, and content calendar management Strong strategic communications capability with demonstrated experience delivering high-impact campaigns The ability to respond quickly and calmly to urgent operational or safety incidents, working alongside operations, depot teams, and leadership to provide accurate, timely updates A strong understanding of the political and community landscape affecting public transport, with an ability to navigate government priorities, community expectations, and contractual obligations Exceptional writing skills across a wide range of formats including digital, media, thought leadership and marketing content Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail Strong stakeholder engagement skills, advanced computer literacy, and the legal right to work in Australia with a current driver’s licence What We Offer You: At Busways, we don’t just transport people – we care about every part of the journey.
