We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute professional to join our New Business team, focusing on securing high-quality projects across various sectors. This is an on-going, office-based role in Victoria, Australia, reporting directly to the Pre-Construction Manager . The Opportunity The successfuln Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects across diverse sectors, including commercial, tertiary education, health, aged care, industrial, multi-residential, and sports and recreation . The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining a competitive edge and ensuring profitability . Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for projects ranging from $1M to $20M . Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation to determine scope and requirements . Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities and trade break-ups for tendering and procurement . Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and clarify inclusions/exclusions . Conduct risk analysis and identify value engineering opportunities . Support training and mentoring of junior estimators and cadets . Participate in pre-tender meetings, tender reviews (Bronze, Silver, Gold process), and client presentations . Assist with handover to delivery teams, communicating all assumptions and inclusions . About You: We are looking for a candidate who is collaborative, commercially astute, and accountable . Minimum 4 years' experience in estimating within the commercial construction sector . Proven track record of successful tendering and accurate cost forecasting . Advanced proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, Cubit) and Microsoft Excel . Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline . Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under strict deadlines . Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts, and industry benchmarks .
