Job Summary: The Hardware Engineering person is tasked with Design to Production ensuring that products and processes consistently meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role also involves from initial design stage to identifying, resolving quality issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Technical design discussion with customer on design specification, component selection moving to design execution and project management. Principal Responsibilities: High-speed Hardware design from specification discussion to design execution for custom hardware design. Component selection in discussion with various stakeholders (core components and peripheral components selection). Supplier Quality: Collaborating with Purchasing and Engineering departments to evaluate supplier performance, conducting audits, and improving incoming material quality. Inspection & Testing: Developing and implementing inspection procedures for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining comprehensive quality records such as inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action logs, while generating regular quality performance reports for management. Process Monitoring: Overseeing manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to procedures and identifying opportunities for process optimization to reduce defects and enhance efficiency. Quality Audits: Participating in internal and external audits, including ISO 9001 compliance, to uphold quality management system standards. Customer Feedback: Assisting in investigating customer complaints related to product quality and implementing solutions to improve satisfaction. Continuous Improvement: Engaging actively in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 8D problem-solving, and statistical process control (SPC) Job Level Specifications: Mastery knowledge of industry best practices and disciplines. Considered a subject matter expert within the organization and contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards. Develops solutions to highly complex and uniquely challenging situations. Assignments require extensive evaluation of alternatives and variables. Expected to make improvements to policies and procedures. Works independently toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated using independent judgment and discretion. May act as informal team lead and/or coach less experienced team members. Serves as consultant to management and/or internal/external spokesperson for the organization on major initiatives related to policies, plans and long-range objectives. Effects of erroneous decisions may be long-lasting, influence the future course of the organization and/or require the expenditure of extensive additional resources. Work Experience: Typically 8 years with a t least 3 years of experience in Highspeed Hardware Design (PCBA) Education and Certification(s): Bachelor's degree in Engineering Good understanding of Highspeed (Multigiga bit or RF) design requirements. Experience in Altium design tools (Schematics and PCB design tools). Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques (e.g., SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, 8D). Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, PCB assembly drawing and technical specifications. Familiarity with relevant quality management system standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Knowledge of industry-specific standards (e.g. AS9100) is a significant advantage. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
