Our team The Positioning Australia Program Management Office (PA PMO) within Space Division provides specialist advice and program management services to facilitate delivery, governance and assurance and whole-of-life capability management of Geoscience Australia's Positioning Australia Program. The PA PMO supports Chief of Space Division and its two Branches, Positioning Australia Branch (PA) and SouthPAN Branch, responsible for delivery of the Program. As a small team, the PA PMO combines diverse skillsets including business development, program and project management, procurement, strategic coordination, commercial, scheduling, financial management and governance to deliver the services. The key duties of the position include The Senior/Engagement Officials deliver effective engagement with our key stakeholders and customers. You will deliver stakeholder engagement initiatives that support uptake of Positioning Australia products and services across industry, government and communities. In partnership with subject matter experts within Geoscience Australia, you will work within a small team and coordinate effective engagement and promotion, ensuring these activities deliver on the organisational objectives and targets for the Positioning Australia Program. In this role you will: Apply your strengths in stakeholder engagement to design and execute stakeholder engagement activities to positively impact achievement of the strategic objectives of the Positioning Australia Program across industry, government and communities. Ability and drive to engage successfully with stakeholders in many contexts, to build productive collaborative external relationships. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate and convey technical terms and contexts in an easy to attain manner for non-technical audiences. Work across stakeholder relationships to support uptake of Positioning Australia products and services. Work closely with global navigation satellite systems (GNSS)/positioning subject matter experts demonstrating the applications of Program products and services to provide solutions into industry, government and end user positional problems. Collect data on the effectiveness and impact of stakeholder engagement and communications activities to inform adjustments and achieve required outcomes. Coordinate engagement across sectors like agricultural, maritime, transport, resources and government as well as with original equipment manufacturers of positioning solutions. Liaise with relevant areas within Geoscience Australia and with partner organisations. To be successful in the role you will: Have a passion for delivering engagement activities, business develop and gathering the relevant data to link engagement activities to outcomes and benefits. Be able to identify key stakeholders within priority sectors, develop an understanding of relevant challenges within priority sectors and communicate the value of Positioning Australia's products and services to those priority sectors. Identify opportunities to encourage uptake of technical products and services within priority sectors. Conduct market analysis associated with the branch's products and services, monitoring and reporting on trends. Collaborate with technical officials to integrate latest developments into the systematic business development and engagement planning, including monitoring of upcoming relevant forums, events and conferences. Engage with key customers to build and maintain relationships, understand their perspectives and the impact of uptake of Positioning Australia products and services. Be able to proactively identify risks and issues around stakeholder engagement and identify and propose solutions to mitigate them while maintaining effective performance. Demonstrate public service professionalism and probity by adopting a principled approach and adherence to the APS Values and Code of Conduct. Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications Education and experience relevant to global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) or space-related capabilities (e.g. telecommunications) is desirable. Relevant tertiary qualifications and work experience in a technical-based business environment, combined with a strong grasp of business development for technical products and services. Strong relationship management skills with a customer focus. Experience in partnering and influencing stakeholders in the context of technical products and services. Be highly effective working within multi-disciplinary hybrid teams with demonstrated collaboration and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, ideally in the agricultural, maritime, transport, resources and government sectors and/or with original equipment manufacturers of positioning solutions.
