The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking State Manager – Post Collections to take full accountability for the strategic, financial and operational performance of our Post Collections business across the state. In this pivotal leadership role, you will guide an integrated network of transfer stations, landfill assets and gas operations, ensuring safe, compliant and sustainable operations. You will champion innovation, best practice and continuous improvement to maximise value, reduce our carbon footprint and deliver essential environmental services to the community. Key responsibilities: Lead strategic and master planning for the state’s post-collections network, with full accountability for developing, setting and operationalising both short- and long-term strategy and business development initiatives. Own the full P&L, including waste acceptance, renewable energy offtake and ACCU revenue, ensuring strong financial performance and sustainable growth. Champion safety, regulatory compliance and overall operational performance, embedding a culture of Zero Harm across the Business Unit. Drive Whole-of-Life (WOL) asset and operational planning to optimise asset utilisation, efficiency and long-term value. Manage key external relationships, including regulators, partners and JV stakeholders, to support performance, compliance and strategic outcomes. Optimise network performance across transfer stations, landfill and gas operations, ensuring assets are integrated, efficient and future-ready. Build leadership capability and foster a high-performance culture aligned with Cleanaway’s technical standards, best practices and cross-functional collaboration. About You Proven senior leadership experience in resources, waste, utilities or related operational environments. Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience owning and improving P&L performance. Deep understanding of safety leadership, regulatory frameworks and environmental compliance. Experience managing complex infrastructure networks and asset strategies. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate plans into practical operational outcomes. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including regulators and government entities. A collaborative leader who inspires teams, drives capability uplift and fosters innovation.
