The role We’re looking for experienced Senior Operational Staff to lead and manage teams across our Geochemistry operations in either Kalgoorlie or metro Perth. You’ll play a key role in overseeing workflows, ensuring quality, supporting staff development, and driving efficiency and safety across the laboratory and/or operational sections. The day to day • Lead, coach, and develop teams • Manage workloads, allocate resources, and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and targets • Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and process innovation • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards • Monitor KPIs for production, turnaround, and operational performance • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development • Maintain operational infrastructure, equipment, and inventory • Engage with internal stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and optimise service delivery • Champion a strong safety culture, proactively identifying hazards and promoting sustainability initiatives The essentials We’re looking for aspiring operational leaders who bring: • Tertiary qualification in Science (Chemistry, Geology, or related field) or significant operational experience • 5 years laboratory or operational experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role • Strong leadership, team management, and coaching skills • Ability to optimise workflow, resource allocation, and operational performance • Knowledge of quality, safety, and HSE standards • Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities • Professional communication and stakeholder engagement skills Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
