Your New Role AustralianSuper is responding to the changes such as Pay Day Super by implementing a new member service model, which will work to achieve the Fund’s member growth and experience outcomes through a competitive, sustainable and differentiated proposition. AustralianSuper is also prioritising activities to improve the way its insurance offerings are designed and delivered at the Fund. Reporting to the Compliance Manager – Guardian, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the Fund meets its compliance obligations and delivers on its strategic objectives. You will lead compliance obligation mapping, identify risks, and embed effective risk mitigants. As the Compliance Specialist, you’ll take ownership of this work while providing expert compliance advice on a key project, managing obligations, and reviewing member-facing materials. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to Proactively engage with all stakeholders in the relevant workstreams and across the business and be positioned as the first point of call in relation to compliance. This will include understanding the changes and providing appropriate and balanced advice that will help the business safely deliver on agreed objectives. Active participant on relevant workstreams and solutions streams, including attending working group meetings, stand ups, workshops, and check-ins as appropriate. Input into project plans for the required activities for deliverables. Lead and close out Compliance Obligation Assessments. Review processes and other documents/artefacts and provide compliance recommendations. Work with the business to identify, design and implement new policies, and identify changes to existing policies. Work with Risk and Governance to ensure inputs to the GRC are communicated, tracked to due dates and aligned with the GRC system requirements. Be a trusted advisor to project and business stakeholders. Consult with the Line 1 BAU Risk team regarding any new or updated risks and controls to enable a Risk Assessment What You’ll Need Solid experience in Compliance or legal role preferably in the Superannuation industry. Strong working knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, particularly in a Compliance role. Compliance and project experience in large organisational transformation program would be advantageous. Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work autonomously and resolve competing priorities. Poise and ability to act calmly with the ability to professionally handle confidential matters. Commercially astute with skills to influence and offer pragmatic advice underpinned by sound Compliance management principles.
