Build a cutting edge niche at the intersection of employment law, tech and regulation High volume advocacy in the Fair Work Commission on unfair deactivation and related claims Split practice across specialist gig work plus mainstream disputes and employment matters About your new employer: Global, full service law firm with established disputes and employment practices Acts for major digital labour platforms and household name corporates Known for complex litigation, regulatory and workplace work Collaborative culture, strong training and genuine career progression Supportive partners, paralegal team and broader national network About the role: Work driven by the Fair Work Digital Labour Platform Deactivation Code and Closing Loopholes reforms Defend unfair deactivation and unfair dismissal style claims in the Fair Work Commission for major platform clients Receive matters from a dedicated paralegal team who triage and assess merit at first instance Take carriage of files with prospects, including strategy, drafting and advocacy Enjoy a work mix of approximately 70 percent to 100 percent gig economy employment work Pick up up to 30 percent additional work across general commercial disputes and broader employment matters Regularly appear in conferences, conciliations and hearings, building strong tribunal advocacy skills Work closely with partners, other lawyers and paralegals in a high volume, process driven environment Help shape best practice and workflows in a new, fast growing and genuinely niche employment practice area The ideal candidates: Lawyer (1-3 PQE) 1-3 years PQE in employment and or disputes At least 6-12 months unfair dismissal or FWC exposure Some advocacy in conferences or simple hearings Strong drafting and file management skills Genuinely excited by gig economy and new legislation Keen to build a career with regular Commission advocacy Senior Lawyer / Senior Associate (3-8 PQE) 3-8 years PQE in employment litigation and or commercial disputes Solid unfair dismissal or regulatory employment experience Confident advocate with tribunal experience Polished client management style with defendant side clients Commercial, solutions focused and calm under pressure Comfortable supervising juniors and owning key relationships If this role does not align to your experience and/or career goals, please contact us to discuss other suitable opportunities .
