Mechanical Engineering Technician Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 super Job Type: Full-time Hours: Mon–Fri, 6:30am–3:30pm About the Role Chelmstone is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of equipment used in our precast concrete manufacturing facility. This is a practical role working directly on the factory floor, assisting with equipment operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing support during daily production activities. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor general production equipment including mixers, vibration systems, material-handling machinery and mould-handling equipment. Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance, adjustments, inspections, and minor repairs on plant machinery. Support production by assisting with mould preparation, pouring, finishing, demoulding, and equipment cleaning when required. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise during the workday. Assist with installation, servicing, and improvements to mechanical equipment. Maintain accurate mechanical, maintenance and equipment records. Follow WHS procedures including safe operation, isolation, and lockout systems. Skills & Experience Experience working with mechanical or industrial machinery. Strong practical mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability. Physically fit with willingness to perform hands-on production work. Ability to read mechanical diagrams and equipment manuals. Relevant mechanical qualification OR equivalent experience.
