Seeking two competent and passionate Scientists who will support continuity for delivery of state-wide flow cytometry service for diagnosis and monitoring of haematological malignancies. Two positions are available based at either the Central Laboratory - Royal Brisbane Hospital Campus (RBWH) - Herston or The Princess Alexandra Hospital campus (PAH) - Wooloongabba. Autoimmune Immunobiology Laboratory - Central Laboratory, RBWH The Autoimmune Immunobiology Laboratory provides a comprehensive range of immunology reference laboratory and consultative services to clinicians to assist in the diagnosis and management of immunological conditions and covers autoantibody testing, flow cytometry, HIV diagnostic testing and immune function studies. The primary focus for this role is flow cytometry. Haematology Laboratory - PAH The haematology department performs routine and complex haematology, coagulation and flow cytometry investigations. The primary focus for this role is flow cytometry. Key competencies (role specific criteria) for both roles: You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following: Demonstrated high level of knowledge and skill in diagnostic flow cytometry in an Immunology and/or Haematology clinical pathology laboratory. Demonstrated ability to perform established methods and procedures, apply scientific judgement and develop the ability to undertake more complex tasks within an Immunology and/or Haematology laboratory. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both the immediate work team and broader environment and to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to plan, evaluate and document process improvement activities. * Demonstrated understanding of laboratory quality systems and activities as well as requirements of NATA, NPAAC and ISO standards.
