Seeking a competent and savvy individual who will have a formal role in the performance appraisal and management of subordinate staff providing professional and scientific leadership in Anatomical Pathology at Princess Alexandra Hospital. This role is full-time, Monday-Friday for a fixed term tem[orary contract up to 12 months. You will be required to share responsibilities with the other supervising staff members as follows; you will be required to supervise and coordinate with other team members the operations of the Immunohistochemistry Division of Anatomical Pathology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital-Pathology Queensland. Key competencies (role specific criteria): You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following: - Proven scientific knowledge in the provision of an area of immunohistochemistry and or in-situ hybridisation.- Ability to develop and implement progressive initiatives. - Ability to manage staff, including facilitating staff development and performance appraisal. - Ability to manage and prioritise clinical service delivery in a constantly changing environment.- Expert level of knowledge and skills in an area of immunohistochemistry, In situ hybridisation and general all-round knowledge in histology and cytology.- Knowledge and skills to evaluate service provision and activity level, including cost and appropriateness of service to ensure that the services provided continues to meet client needs. - Ensure that the Immunohistochemistry Service meets all relevant legislative, administrative and professional standards and exceed NATA/ISO accreditation/certification requirements.
